Building a Space for Connection

When Amanda first envisioned Sky Oro, she pictured a space where women could gather without the pressure to perform—a place to be seen in their full humanity. She and her co-founder launched the project in 2019 with no blueprint, raising over $250,000 in just six weeks through a community crowdfunding effort. More than 230 women and a few supportive men contributed, each believing in the power of creating a physical space where women could collaborate, share ideas, and support one another.

Sky Oro opened in Bozeman’s Cannery District as a co-working space, but quickly became much more than that. Members found a sense of belonging—an environment designed with intention, warmth, and authenticity. It became a place where women could show up just as they are: ambitious, curious, tired, inspired, or somewhere in between.

Resilience and Redefining Success

Only a few months after opening, the pandemic hit. Like so many business owners, Amanda faced uncertainty, but she refused to let Sky Oro fade away. Instead of closing the doors completely, she reached out personally to every founding member, offering connection and support even when physical gatherings weren’t possible.

As the world slowly reopened, Sky Oro endured—thanks to the resilience of its members and the relationships that held it together. What could have been the end of a young business became the foundation for a deeper community built on trust, care, and shared purpose.

Today, Sky Oro thrives as both a co-working space and a venue for workshops, retreats, and intimate events. It continues to host a diverse range of gatherings—from small business summits to baby showers and micro weddings—all centered around connection and collaboration.

The Heart of Sky Oro

Amanda describes Sky Oro as “a space where women can be witnessed.” Every detail, from the natural light to the art on the walls and the local coffee from Treeline, was chosen to foster comfort and inspiration. It’s an environment that invites women to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their purpose.

The space also reflects the community that built it—filled with local art, antiques, and design elements donated by the women who helped bring the vision to life. It’s not just an office; it’s a living, breathing expression of collaboration and creativity.

For Amanda, the heart of Sky Oro lies in the courage of its members: women who show up even when things feel uncertain, who are willing to take risks, build businesses, and reimagine what leadership can look like.

Looking Ahead

Six years in, Amanda is focused on expanding Sky Oro’s reach. With a growing network of women across Montana—from Billings to Whitefish—she envisions a future where Sky Oro becomes a model for community-driven workspaces statewide. Her mission remains the same: to create space for women to lead, dream, and grow together.

Through it all, Amanda’s journey is a reminder that community isn’t something we find—it’s something we build.
