Montana Leadership, Grounded in Humanity

Megan describes her work as helping “team-centric leaders” — people who see leadership not just as directing tasks, but as developing people. These are leaders who value presence, curiosity, and self-awareness, and who are willing to pause long enough to understand their impact on others.

Her approach is rooted in the belief that people deserve to enjoy the places where they spend most of their waking hours. When a team is cohesive, connected, and aligned around shared purpose, the work itself becomes meaningful.

The Path to Wayfinders

Before running her own leadership company, Megan taught high school English and journalism. She loved exploring questions of identity and motivation with her students, and that thread continued when she joined Leadership Outfitters in Bozeman.

There, she discovered a way to help adults ask the same questions she once explored with teenagers: Why am I the way that I am? How is this serving me? What needs to change? Her work grew quickly, leading to a leadership role within the company — and eventually to purchasing the business herself when the founders retired.

Why Leaders Seek Development

According to Megan, the leaders who reach out to her already have some self-awareness. They’ve done their own work, understand their blind spots, and want their teams to experience meaningful growth.

Most clients come to her during a transition — a new leader, a growing team, a business acquisition, or a shift in culture. They know something needs to evolve, and they want a guide who can help them move through the process with clarity and intention.

Coaching, Teamwork, and the Power of Presence

Megan’s work ranges from one-on-one coaching to multi-month team development. She emphasizes slowing down, paying attention, and responding rather than reacting. Presence is foundational — the ability to actually hear people, rather than rushing ahead in pursuit of outcomes.

Her philosophy resists binary thinking, especially the “right vs. wrong” mindset that many people inherit from school or early career experiences. Growth often happens in the gray areas, where uncertainty creates room for reflection and change.

Living With Meaning and Contributing to the Collective

Megan sees leadership as a deeply human endeavor — and for her, a spiritual one. While she doesn’t push her own beliefs on clients, her Christian faith underpins her desire to help people live joy-filled, meaningful lives.

She encourages leaders to move beyond self-focused introspection and consider how their gifts support the broader collective. Whether in business, community, or relationships, her work points toward empathy, connection, and shared purpose.

Home, Community, and Life Beyond Work

Outside of coaching and team sessions, Megan and her husband live on 10 acres near Livingston, slowly renovating their property and working toward a homestead lifestyle. From harvesting rose hips to future plans for chickens and goats, their life reflects the same intentionality she brings to her work — slowing down, paying attention, and enjoying the process.
