Vehicles & Ride Experience

What kinds of vehicles will you pick us up in?

At Mountain Mule, we use new, clean, and mountain-equipped SUVs and pickup trucks that are ideal and chosen by locals for navigating Montana’s rugged and often snowy terrain. Our vehicles are outfitted for top-tier safety and comfort, with plenty of room for your luggage and gear, whether you're heading out to a private club, the mountains, a concert, or just exploring the area. Just let us know your needs when booking, and we’ll ensure the right vehicle is prepared for you.

We usually play our brand playlist, "The Mule," which features over 125 hours of country, singer-songwriter, and a couple rock tunes that complement the Montana landscape. It’s a favorite among our clients, offering the perfect soundtrack to keep on riding with The Mule long after your trip. Check it out here and give it a save if you like it!

What makes Mountain Mule different from other transportation services in the Bozeman/Big Sky area?

We’re not just about getting you from point A to point B. We’re about providing an exceptional experience tailored to the Montana landscape and lifestyle. Our luxury trucks and SUVs are set up for the tough terrain and weather that Montana is known for, so you can travel in safety and comfort far beyond where a classic limo or car service could take you. Our drivers are also local experts who can answer your questions about the area, point out wildlife, and let you in on the hidden gems of the area.

Locations & Logistics

Can you pick us up at unusual hours or from remote locations?

Yes, we regularly provide early morning airport drop-offs, late-night pickups, and service to rural areas where rideshares typically aren’t available.

For example, while you can often get an Uber from Bozeman to Big Sky, it’s rare to find one going the other way, as most drivers are based in Bozeman and don’t wait in Big Sky.

We strongly recommend booking your private, reserved car ahead of time, especially if your trip includes 4x4-only roads or areas with limited cell reception.

Do you only serve Bozeman?

While we’re based in Bozeman, we regularly serve clients throughout Southwest Montana, including Big Sky, West Yellowstone, Ennis, Livingston, Three Forks, and the greater Gallatin Valley. We've even traveled as far as Idaho for multi-day trips and special events. If you’re unsure whether we can accommodate your location or destination, just reach out, we’re happy to make it work whenever we can.

What if there’s construction or weather delays?

Montana roads can be unpredictable, especially with seasonal weather shifts or planned construction zones throughout Bozeman, Big Sky, and beyond. We actively monitor road conditions and traffic reports to build in extra buffer time when needed. Your driver will keep you informed of any major changes on the day of your trip, and we’ll always prioritize safety and punctuality.

Please note that additional wait time, rerouting, or stop adjustments may affect your final cost. We recommend reviewing our Terms & Conditions ahead of time to understand how unexpected delays are handled and what to expect if routes need to shift mid-trip.

What if my flight is early or delayed?

Enter your flight number when you book, and we’ll take care of the rest. Our team tracks flight statuses, so whether you land early or experience delays, we’ll get in touch to adjust your pickup accordingly. Your driver will send a message with their name, photo, and pickup instructions once you’ve landed for a smooth arrival. We’re used to the unpredictable nature of travel and plan accordingly so you’re never left waiting or wondering where to go.

What if my plans change last minute? Can you accommodate last-minute bookings or adjustments?

We understand that plans can change, especially in the high country. If you need to adjust your booking or have last-minute changes, just give us a calland we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs. We're also proud to offer an easy-to-use booking system that allows you to book trips on behalf of others, get trip notifications, adjust your reservation, and add on special request items like car seats. Our goal is to help you have a stress-free experience, no matter what comes up.

Weddings, Events, & Corporate Travel

Do you offer wedding or event transportation?

Yes! We specialize in private transportation for weddings, elopements, welcome dinners, bachelor/ette parties, and other destination events. Whether you need a single ride for a couple heading to their ceremony or a full-day shuttle schedule for your guests, we provide flexible, reliable support. Our fleet includes 7-passenger SUVs, a 14-passenger van, and our signature luxury pickup truck—perfect for photo sessions, send-offs, or rural road access.

Let us know your itinerary, and we’ll build a custom transportation plan that fits the vibe and flow of your day.

Do we have to book Mountain Mule for the entire day?

You can, but you certainly don't have to. You can book a single trip, like a post-reception sendoff or an airport pickup for a guest, or you can list us as a recommended option in your wedding or event welcome guide. For events needing multiple rides throughout the day, we’re happy to provide custom quotes and we offer a reduced hourly rate after the first four hours of consecutive service.

We recognize event is different, and we’ll help you find a transportation solution that fits your timeline and budget.

Do you work with corporate clients or travel agencies?

We do. Mountain Mule frequently partners with executive assistants, VIP coordinators, and corporate travel teams to provide reliable, discreet transportation for business meetings, retreats, and high-profile guests.

You’re welcome to book on behalf of someone else and receive trip notifications, perfect for ensuring your client, team member, or guest gets where they need to be safely and on time. We’re also happy to coordinate with your itinerary or event planner directly to make transportation one less thing to think about.
